Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Unboxing and first impression

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the eldest sibling of the lineup and is fully loaded with new features, making it the most attractive among others. However, there's no significant difference in terms of design when we compare it with the predecessor - Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a new edge design making it more ergonomic than its predecessor. So despite being a heavy device, 234gm, it is much easier on the palms.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a big 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has Gorilla Glass Victus2 protection on both front and back. For the first time, Samsung has introduced Real-time Ray Tracing. 

You can find a speaker at the bottom of the smartphone. You will also get a SIM tray and a Type C charging port.

The device has an iconic floating camera and is available in four colours - Phantom Black, Green, Cream and Lavender. We here have the green one. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a new 200MP (f/1.7) ISOCELL HP2 primary camera. It is accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide sensor, a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x zoom, and a second 10MP telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. For selfies, the South Korean company has added a new 12MP camera on the front. The front camera comes with Dual Pixel autofocus technology along with Nightography

The Galaxy S23 series is powered by a custom-designed Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The series also has up to a 2.7x larger vapour cooling chamber for reliable gaming performance.

It runs on Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box. The Galaxy S23 series will get four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W superfast charging. All three phones have Type-C charging ports but they don't come with a charging brick. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra also supports Fast Wireless Charging 2.0. 

The Galaxy S23 series has been manufactured using recycled materials.
