Xiaomi’s new 12S series has been co-developed by the German camera company, Leica. This is the first time Xiaomi has co-developed phones with a camera company. To watch this event, we have embedded the live link below:

Ahead of launch, the company recently confirmed that the flagship smartphone will come with a 1-inch type sensor co-developed by Sony. This sensor size is used in the company’s new Sony IMX989 sensor.

"#Xiaomi12SUltra will feature the Sony IMX989, Sony's largest image sensor. This sensor helps boost focus speed and allows for better dynamic range. More information to be released at #Xiaomi12SSeriesLaunch on July 4th, 19:00 (GMT+8)," Xiaomi India wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12S is expected to come with a Dimensity 9000 Plus chip and use “Dimensity Edition” in its name to signify the processor. But Xiaomi’s announcement on Weibo does not talk about such a phone.

Lei Jun, Found and CEO of Xiaomi, recently took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote: "After so much hard work, we can finally share our latest innovation, Xiaomi smartphones co-engineered with Leica, ushering in a new era in imagery technology. Looking forward to sharing more at the #Xiaomi12SSeriesLaunch on July 4, 19:00 GMT+8!."

According to leaked reports, Xiaomi 12S Ultra might come with QHD+ AMOLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and features an LTPO panel. It is expected to use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen+ 1 chipset which is likely to come paired with 12GB RAM and offer 512GB storage.
