Xiaomi 12 Pro launch in India: Finally! Global technology brand Xiaomi is all set to host its Spring Summer Flagship event today at 12:00 PM in India. According to the brand, it is launching flagship Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet, and the Xiaomi Smart TV 5A in the country.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro was first introduced globally in the month of March. In the company’s home country China, the device was launched last year in December. It is expected that the India variant will also come with the same specifications. The premium Xiaomi 12 Pro costs $999 (around Rs 76,300) for the 8GB/256GB storage version in China. It is expected to come in same price bracket in India as well.

The smartphone features a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide angle sensor. At the front, it features a 32MP sensor for taking selfies.

Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sample rate. The smartphone uses a 10-bit panel with a resolution of 3,200×1,440 pixels. It is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

The mobile phone runs Google’s Android 12 operating system with the company’s latest MIUI 13 skins on top. All of this is backed by a 4,600mAh battery with support for 120W wired, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Pad 5 will be the first tablet from the company to debut in India in a long time. This upcoming tablet will be launching alongside the upcoming flagship smartphone from the brand -- Xiaomi 12 Pro.

This tablet from Xiaomi is already available in China and in global markets. Now, it will be introduced in India. Globally, in terms of pricing, the new Xiaomi Pad 5 is priced at EUR 349 (roughly Rs.30,300) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option. It is priced at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 34,600) for the 6GB RAM + 256GB storage option. It comes in Cosmic Gray and Pearl White colour options. This tablet is expected to price in same price category in India.

In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Pad 5 global variant runs Android 11 and offers an 11-inch WQHD+ TrueTone display with support 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor.

The device has an 8,720mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The Chinese company claims that the Xiaomi Pad 5 can deliver up to 10 hours of gaming, 16 hours of video playback, and 5 days of music playback. It supports the Face Unlock feature too and split-screen for multitasking.

In terms of optics, the tablet features a single 13MP camera sensor at the back, paired with an LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with support for up to 1080p recording. The tablet also has four speakers with support for Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port and more.
