Tecno Camon 18 with 48MP rear camera launched at Rs 14,999

Tecno Camon 18 launch:  Smartphone brand Tecno on Thursday announced the launch of its camera-centric Camon series, the Camon 18. The smartphone is the successor to the standard Camon 17 that debuted in the country in July this year.

According to the brand, consumers can avail complimentary Buds 2 worth Rs 1999 with every purchase of Camon 18. It will be available across the brand’s 50K+ retail touchpoints PAN India starting 27th December.

"The all-new CAMON 18 has been designed keeping in mind the need of the hour requirements of our new-age consumers and offers pro-grade camera capabilities with the combination of a big screen and a powerful processor that gives a seamless smartphone experience," Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of TRANSSION India, said in a statement.

The Tecno Camon 18 comes with a 6.8-inch center-aligned punch-hole IPS LCD display bearing an FHD+ resolution. It features a 90Hz refresh rate. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The back panel houses a rectangular camera module.

In terms of camera, the Tecno Camon 18 sports triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 48MP main sensor, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro unit. On the front, there is a 48MP selfie camera. The device houses a MediaTek Helio G88 processor.

It is coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB native storage. There is virtual memory expansion support up to 7GB. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W charging. Software-wise, the device runs on Android 11 with HiOS 8.0 skinned on the top.
