Apple iPhone 14 production: In good news for iPhone lovers in India, the US-based tech giant Apple has confirmed that it has started iPhone 14 production in India. According to the the company, the new iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn is assembling the new iPhone 14 at its Sriperumbudur facility near Chennai.

The tech giant first started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017 with iPhone SE. Apple manufactures some of its most advanced iPhones in the country, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, at the Foxconn facility, while iPhone SE and iPhone 12 are being assembled at the Wistron factory in the country.
According to experts, the Made in India iPhone 14 is expected to go on sale later this year. Also iPhone 14 series has seen a great response.
According to Prabhu Ram, Head-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR: "With the commencement of the Apple iPhone 14 production in India, the momentum for Apple and Make in India gets a significant thrust. As India gets further integrated into global value chains, this will further give a fillip to Apple’s 'China Plus One' strategy.
iPhone 14 to get cheaper in India after launch?
Ram told Zee Business: "I anticipate the Made in India iPhone 14 to go on sale later this year. As Apple’s domestic manufacturing surges in India, there will be consumer expectations around more affordable iPhones to be made available. However, a multitude of factors drive pricing, and it will be too early to hazard a guess."
Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, told Zee Business: "We believe India is already a very important market for Apple now. India is among the 20+ countries in the world where the premiumization trend has just started. Easy finance, buy now pay later, and shift from mid-tier to premium is happening."
"iPhone 14 series has seen a great response and iPhone 13 is equally going strong for Apple," he added.
iPhone 14 specifications
Apple launched iPhone 14 in India at a starting price of Rs 79,900. The iPhone 14 is available in midnight, blue, starlight, purple, and (PRODUCT)RED in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. The iPhone 14 measures 146.70 x 71.50 x 7.80mm and weighs 172.00 grams.
The latest iPhone 14 comes with a 6.1‑inch Super Retina XDR display and it is powered by a hexa-core Apple A15 Bionic processor. The device supports wireless charging, as well as proprietary fast charging.
