BIG! Apple iPhone users to get 5G software update in December - Check list of eligible iPhones

Apple iPhones 5G software update: In good news for iPhones users in India, the US-based technology giant Apple on Wednesday confirmed that 5G software update on its iPhones in the country will be made available in December. Those using iPhone 14 , iPhone 13, iPhone 12  series and iPhone SE (third generation) models will get an upcoming software update on 5G.

“We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed. 5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December, Apple told Zee Business. 

According to the company, iPhone 12 models or later work with the 5G cellular networks of certain carriers. When you're in an area with 5G coverage for your carrier and your 5G cellular plan has been activated, you'll see a 5G icon in the status bar of your iPhones.

How to change 5G option on your iPhone

Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options. If you're using Dual SIM, go to Settings > Cellular and choose the number whose options you want to change.

Also, telecom operator Bharti Airtel recently launched Airtel 5G Plus in eight Indian cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi. According to the company, Airtel 5G Plus provides speed that are up to 30x faster than the Airtel 4G. Airtel mentioned that its 5G Plus service will work on iPhone 12 series, Apple iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and the iPhone SE 2022 after the software update.
