The US-based tech giant Apple On Monday announced that it has launched a repair program for the Apple Watch Series 6 to address an issue that can cause a small percentage of the devices to exhibit a permanently blank screen.
According to a report from macrumors, devices that have been impacted by this issue will be repaired free of charge by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The program covers eligible Apple Watch Series 6 models for two years after the first retail sale of the unit.
This problem impacts the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6, and affected devices were manufactured between April 2021 and September 2021. Apple says that Watch Series 6 owners can use the serial number checker on the website to determine whether their devices are eligible for the repair program, the report further added.
In related news, the US-based tech giant Apple is reportedly working on a new iMac with M3 chipset which could potentially launch next year. An M3 chip is "already in the works" and is currently undergoing testing, according to AppleInsider, the IANS report said.
The report did not reveal the details of what the chip will offer but it won't launch until the end of next year at the earliest. As for the M2 roadmap, the report outlined the plan as an M2 release in a new MacBook Air, entry-level MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
Also, the company is now focusing on MacBooks and is allegedly exploring the possibility of offering an all-screen foldable notebook. The company is currently in discussion with suppliers for around 20-inch foldable screen.
Apple is set to launch several new products this year, including the Apple iPhone 14 series, MacBooks powered by the M2 chipset and a 27-inch iMac Pro with M1 Pro or M1 Max processor.
