Apple iOS 16 download: After the launch its latest iPhone 14 series smartphones, the US-based tech giant Apple is to release the latest iOS 16 update today. The new software update brings many changes and new features including lock screen customisation, new lock screen notifications, live activities, focus filter, focus mode and more. Earlier this year, the iOS 16 update was announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference but the official roll out will start from this Monday.

How to install iOS 16 on your iPhone
To install iOS 16 when the update is released, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap General settings and Software Update. Once iOS 16 shows on your screen, you'll get an option to "Install Now", tap that, then just follow the on-screen instructions. Your iPhone will eventually restart, and will require you to input your pass key.

Users can also create Lock Screens using their favourite emoji or colour combinations. With multiple Lock Screens, users can switch between their favourites with just a swipe. Live Activities is a new feature that helps users stay on top of things that are happening in real-time, such as a sports game, workout, ride-share, or food delivery order, right from the Lock Screen.
Siri has added the ability to run shortcuts as soon as an app is downloaded without requiring upfront setup. Face ID for iPhone will work in landscape in iOS 16.
