As per a report by zeenews.india.com which quoted a report by Daily Express, hackers are sending a text to registered WhatsApp users which reads, “Hello, sorry, I sent you a 6-digit code by mistake, can you pass it to me, please? It’s urgent?”

It is advised to all WhatsApp users to avoid any such messages or else you can end up losing access to your WhatsApp account and your data as well.

How are hackers attacking WhatsApp users?

A message with a six-digit code is being sent to the users. This six-digit code is the verification code generated by WhatsApp at the request of hackers.

As you will receive the code, the hacker will message you as one of your friends and will ask you to share the six-digit code sent by WhatsApp.

And as you will send them the code you will end up losing access to your WhatsApp. Therefore, it is advised not to open or forward such messages and users can delete them at the first attempt.
