After finally releasing the ability to react to messages to everyone on WhatsApp for Android, iOS, and Desktop, the Meta-owned popular messaging application WhatsApp is now working on some new messaging features for a future update -- a new message reply shortcut, a feature under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta planned to be released soon.

"Thanks to the new message reply shortcut, you will be able to reply to a message even faster than before by simply clicking the shortcut once instead of twice, in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta," WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp wrote on Twitter.

According to WABetaInfo, You can quickly reply to a message in a chat thread by following two different methods: you can select “Reply” right within the message options, or tap twice the message row. In the recent WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2218.0 update, there are references about a third method to reply to messages, available in a future update of the app:

The report revealed that WhatsApp is developing a new message reply shortcut placed next to the reaction button: thanks to the new shortcut, you will be able to reply to a message even faster than before by simply clicking the shortcut once instead of twice.

As usual, this feature is under development so it may be released in a future update. Probably you might be wondering why WhatsApp is not immediately releasing a simple feature like that.

When a feature is marked as under development, it may already be ready in some cases, but WhatsApp may need some time to decide if it is really the case to release it to users. When the new message reply shortcut is released, a new post will be available on this website.
