WhatsApp adds HD photos sharing feature - Here's how to send
WhatsApp HD photos: Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced a much-awaited feature for users. The company today said that users will now be able to send photos in high-definition (HD) using the platform. Announcing the update, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the feature to share HD images will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
"For special moments that you want friends and family to enjoy in every little detail, you now have the option to share photos in higher resolution, all while protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption," the company said in a release.
WhatsApp also said that the feature to send images in Standard Quality will remain there to ensure that sharing photos remains fast and reliable. In fact, Standard Quality will remain the default option to send photos.
“Sharing photos on WhatsApp just got an upgrade,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a post.
The new feature will allow users to send high-definition images from Android, iOS or the web. The recipients will see a small 'HD' icon on the left side of the image indicating the same.

According to Meta, support for HD videos is coming soon after.
How to send HD photos on WhatsApp?
Sending HD photos on WhatsApp will be very easy. You can follow these steps -
Step 1: In order to do this, simply click on the photo icon on the right side.
Step 2: Select the image and then click on the HD icon at the top.
Step 3: A pop-up will appear. Selection 'HD quality'.
Step 4: Now press the send option.
If you receive a photo when you have low bandwidth connectivity, you can choose on a photo-by-photo basis whether to keep the standard version or upgrade it to HD.
