One of the features is deleting a message wherein it let users select from options like 'delete for everyone' or 'delete for me'. There are several instances when we accidentally hit the 'delete for me' option and then realise our mistake. In a better-late-than-never move, the instant messaging app is now giving users an opportunity to undo accidentally deleted messages.
WhatsApp will now let users recover that deleted message. However, the window will be of just 5 seconds. WhatsApp has named this feature 'Accidental Delete'.
WhatsApp Accidental Delete: How it works?
WhatsApp 'Accidental Delete' feature allows users to select the 'undo' option after hitting the 'delete for everyone option. Once you delete a message, a small dialog box will appear 'Undo' option. You can recover the message you just deleted by hitting the button.
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has announced that the feature will be available on both Android and iPhone. This feature is definitely a welcome move and users will take advantage of it.
It is important to note that if you want to use the option of 'delete for everyone', you as well as the recipients must have the latest version of the app.
Meanwhile, instant messaging has also started rolling out a new feature that gives users the ability to disable notifications for calls on Windows beta. It is to be noted that beta testers have already got the ability to disable notifications for WhatsApp calls.
