Recently, as per media reports, the Government of India is planning to permanently ban 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok and Bytedance from June 2021 and this could also have repercussions for PUBG Mobile India due to its Chinese links. When the ban was put in place, Tencent was removed as one of the entities and PUBG Mobile worked hard to ensure that there was no Chinese connection to the App. However, reports say that this may well not be a certainty.
With the government taking strict view of the security threats from these apps and planning to put 59 Chinese apps under permanent ban, it only makes any chance of PUBG Mobile India making a comeback in the Indian gaming market bleak.
As for TikTok, which was banned in June 2020, it has has decided to restrict its business in India. PUBG Mobile India, which was banned in September, is now coming to terms that the relaunch which was planned for March 2021 is over and its comeback to India might never happen. The launch of FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards) and the announcement of the permanent ban on 59 Chinese apps suggest that PUBG Mobile India's worst nightmare might come true that the game might never come back to the country.
