According to a report by BGR India, due to 'gaming addiction' among children, the Bangladesh government is considering putting a ban on PUBG Mobile. Not only, PUBG Mobile, another popular game is also going to meet a similar fate as PUBG in India's neighbouring country - Garena Free Fire. As of now, both these games are available in Bangladesh, but their availability may change anytime soon. The Bangladesh government is also planning on restricting PUBG Mobile and Garena Free Fire, via VPN as well.
As per a report from The Daily Manab Zamin, the Bangladesh government said that these games can be instrumental in making the teenagers 'more violent.' On top of that, the President of the Bangladesh Mobile Association is of the opinion that the easy access of the youth to these games ‘leads youth astray’.
However, though the PUBG Mobile is banned in India, its Indian avatar, Battlegrounds Mobile India is soon going to be launched in India. Though an official launch date has not been announced from Krafton, as per various media reports, the gaming enthusiasts are expecting that the game will be released in India in the third week of June.
The pre-registration for Battlegrounds Mobile India has started from May 18, 2021. Battlegrounds Mobile India will come as an exciting package for the Indian users. This new release from Krafton will come with exclusive in-game events like outfits and features. In addition to that, the new game will have its own esports ecosystem with tournaments and leagues. Though it is expected that the battle royale game will be similar to the original PUBG Mobile in most of the aspects, the possibility of a little change here and there in the Indian version of the game cannot be totally avoided.
One must also note that apart from India, PUBG Mobile is also banned in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and a few others because of the reason that this game make the children violent. Bangladesh can be a new addition to this list.
