However, according to a report from Newsmeter, a fact-checking website, this new WhatsApp viral message that users are receiving as a forward is completely FAKE. This was also reportedly confirmed by Amazon customer service. The fake WhatsApp offer does not seem to have any text, but the preview of the link says “Amazon 30th anniversary celebration”. The link leads to a fake URL, which is certainly not an Amazon website.

As per the report, people who click on the WhatsApp link are taken to a website which looks similar to the official Amazon website. On the website, the hackers are informing users that the company will gift a Huawei Mate Pro 5G randomly to a hundred lucky users. However, it is asking every single participant to "tell five groups or 20 friends about the promotions, then enter their address and download an app and that the gift will then be delivered within 5-7 days”.

However, this is completely fake, and it is new way to gain access to user's personal data and other information which will help these scamsters to steal your money and other data. Please note that this WhatsApp forwarded message is just another online trick to scam people that must not be clicked on. Kindly, avoid this type of WhatsApp messages and always check official website before clicking on any link.

Zee Business web team reached out to Amazon India for a reaction, but so far, no reaction has been forthcoming.
