ALERT! WhatsApp Scam: 'Free' Jio Rs 555 plan? Check all details of this FAKE plan here

The most popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has now become a hotspot for scamsters. Millions of people around the world, including in India use WhatsApp regularly. While it is undoubtedly the most convenient messaging app, somehow it has become home to a number of scams. Now a new type of scam is going viral on WhatsApp. SCamsters are offering to provide the Rs 555 Jio plan for FREE! However, WhatsApp users should be careful as this is a fake offer, and they must not fall for it.

According to a report from BGR India, a new WhatsApp message claims to provide Jio users with the Rs 555 plan for free. However, this is not true. The message, which consists of a link to avail of the offer is fake and will instead, direct you to a malicious website, which will help hackers to get access to your personal data.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh’s Cyber Crime branch has warned people of the same and confirmed that it is fake.

"A Phishing Website namely “https://jioozone.blogspot.com” is being created on BlogSpot. The websites offers Free Jio Recharge worth Rs 555. From Analysis it has been learned that the above-mentioned website is to trying to redirect the user to malicious website," Himachal Pradesh’s Cyber Crime branch wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
