Tech startup Plane gets $4 million seed funding from VC firm OSS Capital
Plane offers simple, easy cross-functional collaboration for modern teams.
Plane, a tech startup that specialises in open-source project management, has raised $4 million in seed funding from OSS Venture Capital, according to a company's statement.
"Plane’s open-core model, strong community engagement, and first-principles approach to project management deeply impressed us. With Plane One, they are now doubling down on their mission to be a viable, open-source, and sustainable alternative to incumbents of the industry,” said Joseph Jacks, founder at OSS Capital.
VC firm OSS is an early-stage investor that exclusively backs startups that specialise in commercial open-source software, globally.
Headquartered in Delaware and India, Plane offers simple, easy cross-functional collaboration for modern teams. The startup was founded in November 2022 by Vamsi Kurama and Vihar Kurama and aims to be the one-stop project management software for companies to optimise their customer value and efficiency.
Plane aids in the provision of a range of services from IT, design and product, and other such professional services.
“This funding validates our vision of creating a user-friendly, extensible, and affordable project management product. As a first step, Plane One is designed ground-up for growing businesses that need essential tools to manage their projects and their instance better without being locked into ongoing SaaS-pricing commitments,” said Vamsi.
Plane One offers a one-time perpetual license at $799, discounted $100 for the first 100 orders.
