In the startup space, health and wellness brand Zingavita and biotech firm Vgenomics have raised funds from their respective investors, both the companies announced on Tuesday (January 16, 2023).

Health and wellness startup Zingavita gets $1.2M funding led by Anicut Capital
 
Zingavita, a leading health and wellness startup specialising in providing high-quality nutraceuticals and supplements, has received Rs 10 crore ($1.20 million) in its pre-series A round of funding led by Anicut Capital.
 
Other investors who took part in the fresh funding include Venkat Krishnan (CEO at BionPharma), Puru Gupta (founder, True Elements), Vishesh Chandiok (CEO, Grant Thornton Bharat), Nikhil Bhandarkar (founding partner, Panthera Peak) and other seasoned angel investors.
 
The company will use the funds to catalyse its expansion into new product development focusing on targeted nutrition. It will enter into the premium ayurvedic supplement space.
 
Zingavita's portfolio includes over 25 products accessible on top e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata 1mg. Zingavita has spearheaded the development of a revolutionary suite of health products focused on improving overall well-being.
 
Vgenomics raises seed funding led by Mumbai Angels

Vgenomics India Private Limited, a biotechnology firm, has raised an undisclosed sum in seed funding led by early-stage investment platform, Mumbai Angels.
 
Other investors who participated in the seed round include prominent Angel investors like Rohit Chanana, and Sabine Kapasi, among others, the startup said in a press note.
 
Vgenomics plans to use the money for building diagnostic solutions and scaling the existing business with neonatologists, gynaecologists, paediatricians, and clinical geneticists.
 
"Vgenomics’ groundbreaking approach to harnessing next-generation, AI-powered sequencing technologies to address rare diseases is commendable. We believe this investment not only validates their innovative strategy but also propels the journey towards impacting the lives of millions of children affected by rare diseases worldwide," said Nandini Mansinghka, CEO of Mumbai Angels.

Vgenomics generates revenue from customers that include renowned researchers and clinicians from AIIMS, PGIMER, Dr. Shroff, etc. They have received accolades from industry partners, including the prestigious Illumina Grant.
