Allegations of fraudulent activity have surfaced within MyMandi, a grocery app startup owned by Mahanaaryaman Scindia, the son of Union Minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia. The company has filed a complaint against its own manager in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, accusing them of misappropriating funds, according to local authorities.
The complaint, lodged by MyMandi's account manager Utkarsh Hande, points fingers at the company's procurement manager, Shivam Gupta, for allegedly embezzling funds, stated Vipendra Chouhan, in-charge of Janakganj police station.
Explaining the nature of the business, Chouhan mentioned that MyMandi facilitates the buying and selling of vegetables and fruits through its application. A case has been registered, and an investigation has commenced into the matter.
Regarding ownership, inquiries were made about Mahanaaryaman Scindia's connection to the company. Chouhan clarified that he has requested documentation from the complainant to verify the ownership structure.
The investigation will determine the extent of the embezzlement and any fraudulent activities, stated the police official. According to information provided by the MyMandi app, Mahanaaryaman Scindia serves as one of two directors, with industrialist Ratan Tata listed as one of the investors in the company.
