These health startups help bridge the gap between you and your doctor
These health startups connect you to a doctor in few minutes, instead of waiting for hours.
Were you feeling under the weather but did not have the strength to visit your doctor. Or did you forget if you had to take your medication before or after your meal? Fret not, this is a situation most of us face. In the hectic schedule that most of us have, doctors or clinics cannot be approachable all the time and no one wishes to go all the way to sit in the waiting room for hours. But these startups have taken the crucial step of bridging the gap between the patient and the doctor. Further, this also helps patients who cannot physically visit their doctor every now and then.
1. DocsApp
The brainchild of Satish Kannan and Enbasekar D, DocsApp begin in the year 2015. Their aim was to bring the doctor's consultation to the comfort of the individual's home. Moreover, the application aids in breaking the taboo associated with visiting specialists like sexologists and psychiatrists/ psychologist.
The DocsApp is a multi-language platform, which caters to people living in remote and far-flung areas as well. The application hosts around 3000 doctors covering various branches of medicines such as general medicine, dermatology, paediatrics, gynaecology obstetrics, sexology, psychiatry, lactation consultancy, pre and post pregnancy diet and fitness and weight management.
Till today, DocsApp has provided medical consultancy to over 1,00,000 patients, with the average response time of 15 minutes.
2. DocTalk
Founders Akshat Goenka and Vamsee Chamakura started DocTalk in the year 2016. Curated for both doctors and patients, DocTalk not only caters for the medical needs of the patient but also helps the medical practitioner consult more number of patients by closing the gap between the two. Doctalk is a mobile application wherein the patient can log in his or her medical data, get consultation on an instant messaging basis and also keeps a record of their medical history in their smartphones. Furthermore, they receive the prescription in just a small fraction of time, hence reducing the time wasted otherwise.
3. DoctorInsta
Started in the year 2015 by Amit Munjal, DoctorInsta is a platform where patients can choose the doctor they wish to consult in the comforts of their home. The application covers various medical branches, chiefly, medicine, dermatology, paediatrics, gynaecology obstetrics, sexology, psychiatry, diet and nutrition and homoeopathy. DoctorInsta also has the provision for a second opinion from doctors based in the United States. DoctorInsta charges Rs 400 per consultation on average.
Individuals can also get their medical queries and get their questions answered instantly by specialists.
