The startup has currently tied up with Zomato and is the partner of choice for temperature-controlled deliveries for their intercity orders.

Swarup Bose, founder, Celcius Logistics, said that India incurs food losses worth about USD 14 billion due to inefficiencies in the cold supply chain. These include lapses in maintaining optimum temperatures, using non-refrigerated vehicles for transit, lack of tracking and tracing technology and handling of products by untrained drivers.

He said that Celcius will ensure that good quality materials are transported through real-time tracking of temperature at every point.

"The motto is to transform the temperature-controlled transport and delivery spectrum with integrated, tech enabled solutions which ensure superior quality of products delivered anywhere within a maximum time frame of 18 hours," he said.

Celcius said that during the transit period, customers can track both the thermal conditions and location of the shipment in real time.
