Shalabh Seth appointed Ola Fleet Technologies CEO
Transportation app Ola has roped in former SAB Miller India Managing Director Shalabh Seth as the chief executive officer of Ola Fleet Technologies, its wholly owned leasing subsidiary.
In his new role, Seth will drive supply growth through leasing and other driver focused initiatives to consolidate Ola's position as the market leader in the Indian ridesharing space, Ola co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal told PTI.
The operations were earlier handled by Ola Vice President Rahul Maroli. He will lead Ola's Corporate offering.
Stating that the leasing business is a key strategic priority for Ola, Aggarwal said: "Ola was one of the first companies in the ridesharing space globally to attempt an innovative model like this and I personally believe that tremendous value for the ecosystem can be made possible with an innovative approach to supply."
Shalabh brings in valuable experience in managing a large and complex business and he is rightly equipped to take Ola's leasing business to the next level, he added.
Prior to joining SABMiller India, Seth worked with ITC Ltd for over 8 years across operations, supply chain and sales.
In 2015, Ola had announced setting up of a captive leasing subsidiary to finance cars to be added to its platform and had announced an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.
Through Ola Fleet Technologies, the Bengaluru-based firm focusses on building its own fleet and skilling drivers.
