Mishaps can occur any moment. Whether it is dropping your new smartphone to being involved in a motor accident and getting injured. In such cases, having insurance makes things easier on the financial end. Insurance helps in such situations by lessening the burden of medical bills, replacing broken device or getting vehicle fixed. However, against the common belief that insurance is a complicated procedure, Digit, a digital insurance venture, aims to make the process of getting a policy as easy as cutting a loaf of bread. Digit says that its documents to get insurance are so simple that even a 15 year old can understand them.
Initiated in the year 2016 by Kamesh Goyal, Digit is a Bengaluru based insurance firm that has simplified the process of getting insurance Currently the startup provides schemes and plans on vehicle insurance, health insurance, travel insurance, mobile insurance, jewelry and more. Vehicle insurance is further branched into car, and commercial vehicle insurance. Digit also benefits its customers with simplified home protection and health insurance plans.
To get an insurance claim from Digit, one can simply make a call on their toll free number and then the startup sends the customer with a Self-Inspection link on the registered number. Post the customer puts the damages on the link, the startup assesses the damage thus done and sends the estimates of the expenditure. After this the customer can choose both online as well as offline mode of receiving funds. For damages, Digit send the estimated amount required for repairs into the bank account of the client.
