Independence Day: Flipkart announces The Big Freedom sale

Ahead of India's 70th Independence Day, E-commerce major Flipkart on Sunday announced "The Big Freedom" three-day sale beginning from August 9. The sale will end on August 11 midnight. 

During this three days period, the company will be giving series of offers including 10% discount to HDFC Bank debit and credit cardholders. 

In addition, the customers will get minimum 71% discount under "Largest Democracy. Legendary Deals" section. The "Spotlight of the hour" will offer deal every hour. Also, to attract more customers, the company will be offering "Price Crash" deals which will last for less time. 

The customers will be able to shop from over 30 categories with up to 50% off on products. From its "Exclusive" products, Flipkart is giving discounts on Lenovo K5 Note, 50% off on Metronaut and smart watches and various offers on electronic gadgets. 

Flipkart's sale announcement came in after its biggest rival Amazon India earlier this week announced "Amazon Great Indian Sale" from August 9 to August 12.
