Cab drivers are often criticised for their rude behaviour towards passengers but what an Ola driver did in Patna, should set an example for others. Rajesh Kumar, an Ola driver-partner went out of his way and helped the family with an ailing elderly member to get her timely medical attention at 2 am.

Amit Ashu, a resident of Patna in Bihar was left in a fix when his grandmother was hit by severe chest pain at 1:30 AM.

As there was no transport mode available at that time, he booked an Ola cab. The driver Rajesh Kumar, however, ended up helping the family in more ways than expected. In a LinkedIn post, Amit explained that when the driver got to know about the situation, he reached the spot 10 minutes before the expected time of arrival. Not only this, Rajesh also helped in keeping the lady in the cab and according ṭo Amit, showed urgency while driving to the hospital.

The post says that Rajesh even helped the family keep calm, and assisted them in making sure that ailing Mrs Ashu was taken to the hospital, without delay. The driver was felicitated by Ola for his commitment.

“It was my duty to ensure that my ailing passenger reaches the hospital and receives timely treatment. While Ola’s recognition does feel special, for me it was all in a day’s work. I have never believed in canceling rides or causing any inconvenience to my customers. I also urge my fellow drivers to be sensitive to such critical situations, when they come across them.," he said.

Ola gets good response in London

The cab aggregator had recently announced that over 10,000 PHV drivers have registered with the service in less than three weeks in London. The platform also announced that it has extended a first of its kind offer that enables drivers to enjoy 0% commission for the first two months after the launch, allowing them to retain 100% of their earnings from the platform. Driver documents have been verified and mandatory training modules, created by Ola, will help ensure that drivers are ready to use the platform when it launches in the coming weeks.
