Flipkart relaxes return policy to include refunds on these items
E-commerce major, Flipkart on Wednesday modified its returns policy to include refunds on objects that were temporarily restricted from the site.
Flipkart had mentioned that ‘All sales were final’ on its returns policy which no longer reflects on its website.
Customers can now avail of refunds on books, home decor, lifestyle fashion, fitness and musical instruments, among others.
“They would have to relax the rules for returns and refunds,” one analyst that Zeebiz spoke to said, further adding, “Sales of fashion and apparel would bear the brunt of a no returns policy by Flipkart.”
The company still does not offer returns on mobile phones, furniture, air conditioners, washing machines, television sets and small appliances.
In case of these objects the company said that replacements would be allowed within a span of 10 days post-delivery.
“Customers can request for instant refunds on about two-thirds of the 1,800 categories on Flipkart through the self-service option,” a report by Economic Times said.
In June 2016, Flipkart discontinued its ‘no questions asked’ returns policy and brought the window of returning goods to a period of 10 days from the initial 30 day period.
The reverse pick up rate, for when customers send the consignment from their end the company said stood at 30% of all sales.
