A fintech start-up, NIRA, today announced that it has closed $1 million in seed funding from angel investors in the UK as well as India. The funding will be used to accelerate building a core team and technology and drive the initial growth of the business, said a NIRA statement. 
 
Co-founded by ex-Goldman Sachs colleagues Rohit Sen and Nupur Gupta, the fintech start-up promotes financial inclusion by helping people get access to credit in the sizes they need and can afford. 
 
NIRA is focused on providing small credit of up to Rs 1 lakh, for up to 1 year through simple, transparent products that empower individuals to live a life of choice and freedom, said the statement.
 
“We are excited to close our seed funding round of $ 1 Million. While we were oversubscribed for this round, we felt this was just the right amount to help us grow our team, our technology and our business.” said Rohit Sen, Co-Founder and CEO of NIRA.
 
He further said, “We have been refining our product and strategy over the past few months since we went live. Our focus will now be on executing our strategy and scaling the size and reach of our operations.”
 
Finance professionals Rohit Sen and Nupur Gupta launched the fintech start-up in early 2018, to harnesses the power of data and technology to reimagine the way finance can be provided to consumers.
