Amazon India boosts its operations network in Bihar: Launches a new specialized fulfilment centre; more than 11k sellers to benefit - Check details
With this expansion, Amazon India will offer close to 3 lakh cubic feet of storage space to more than 11,000 sellers in Bihar, enabling wider selection and faster deliveries of customer orders in and around the region.
Amazon India has announced the expansion of its fulfilment network in Bihar with the launch of a new specialized Fulfilment Centre (FC), ahead of Prime Day.
With storage capacity of close to 3 lakh cubic feet, the new fulfilment centre is specialized to store and process customer orders from the large appliances and furniture category. More than 11,000 sellers in the State will benefit from the expanded network to reach out to a larger customer base with a wider selection and faster deliveries.

The additional investment in the State will create more job opportunities for local youth and boost ancillary businesses. Ahead of the Prime Day, this expansion will cater to the growing demand from customers across the state. Prime day will be held in India on July 26 and 27.
The expansion in Bihar is a part of the company’s plans to expand its pan-India fulfilment network by close to 40 percent to provide a total storage capacity of 43 million to its sellers, across India.
Located in Patna, the new specialized FC will house tens of thousands of products in the large appliances category consisting of air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and TVs and from a selection of products in furniture category.
Amazon India’s Operations presence in Bihar includes:
1. A fulfilment network that offers close to 3 lakh cubic feet of storage space.
2. A Sort Centre to sort and deliver packages to delivery stations.
3. A strong last mile network of more than 65 Amazon owned and Delivery Service Partner stations in the State.
4. Hundreds of ‘I Have Space’ (IHS) stores in Bihar.
5. More than 11,000 sellers in Bihar.
6. Top categories include large appliances, consumer electronics, fashion, smartphones, and grocery.
Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Minister of Industries, Government of Bihar said, "Bihar has emerged as one of India's top investment destinations during the current NDA government attracting investment proposals worth Rs 34,014 crore. The business-friendly approach of the new Bihar government, presence of a skilled workforce, easy availability of industrial land, 24x7 power to industry & abundance of potable water makes Bihar an attractive investment destination."
