Earlier, it was learnt that UP Rera had recommended the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration to take action against the high-profile builder.

People who purchased flats from Supertech and didn't get possession had accused Arora of not returning their money.

Based on the complaint, UP RERA had ordered the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration to take action against Arora, after which he was detained briefly by officials from the Dadri Tehsil.

However, later Supertech said that it had given a cheque of Rs 2 crore to the district administration and also returned Rs 5 crores to the home buyers.

Dadri SDM Alok Gupta said that Supertech had given a cheque of Rs 2 crore in the form of a recovery certificate, made settlement of Rs 5 crore directly with the flat buyers, and had sought time to deposit the outstanding Rs 19 crore till June 15.

Arora was released after the construction company was given time to return money to the flat buyers in the form of RCs.
