The government has acknowledged the need for sustainable development and has put in place several laws to support the adoption of environmentally friendly practices in the real estate industry. Developers who adopt sustainable building designs and eco-friendly construction techniques are offered incentives like tax rebates, subsidies, and accelerated approval processes. The country's green real estate market has grown significantly as a result of these government initiatives. 

India has achieved the second position on the U.S. Green Building Council's prestigious list of top countries and regions for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification in 2022. This recognition underscores India's substantial progress in promoting health-conscious, sustainable, and environmentally friendly resilient designs. The evaluation of sustainability in buildings is facilitated through certifications such as the "Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment" (GRIHA) and LEED.

Developers embrace green living

Real estate developers are adopting eco-friendly practices and incorporating green features into their projects. Catching on the rising trend of green initiatives by the citizens, Humming Group, a prominent real estate developer based in Raipur, recently organized a tree plantation drive at their flagship project, Humming Sanjeeva. The initiative aims to encourage residents and citizens of Raipur to actively participate in environmental conservation and make a positive impact on the city's green landscape.

From energy-efficient designs and eco-friendly construction materials to water conservation initiatives, the realty sector is redefining the landscape of urban living. "We believe that it is our duty as responsible citizens and developers to take concrete steps towards environmental conservation. Our projects are designed to offer a harmonious living experience, and this includes a strong connection with nature," stated Himanshu Agarwal, Director of Humming Group.

Prominent real estate developers are taking steps to adopt sustainable practices and the latest initiative is a part of the realty developer's commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious development. The developer has previously implemented various environmentally friendly practices in its projects, including rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient designs, and waste management systems.
