July Deadlines And Changes: With the beginning of the new month from next week, there are some important things that you should be aware of. These tasks, including filing Income Tax Return (ITR), either have a deadline or some rule is changing. Missing these could have financial implications. Here are the key dates and changes:
ITR Filing
If you are a salaried individual, it is necessary to file your income tax return by July 31. Missing this deadline, unless extended, may result in a penalty.
Paytm Wallet
The Reserve Bank of India has taken significant action regarding Paytm Payments Bank. Effective July 20, 2024, inactive wallets with zero balance and wallets with no transactions for a year or more will be closed. Paytm has started notifying customers about this change.
ICICI Credit Card Rules
Starting July 1, ICICI Bank will implement changes to its credit card rules. Notably, the card replacement fee will increase from Rs 100 to Rs 200.
PNB RuPay Platinum Debit Card
Punjab National Bank will revise the lounge access program for RuPay Platinum Debit Card holders, effective July 1, 2024. Domestic airport or railway lounge access will be available once per quarter, and international airport lounge access will be limited to twice per year.
Citibank Credit Card
If you use a Citibank credit card, be aware that Axis Bank has acquired Citibank's credit card business. Axis Bank has informed customers that the migration of all accounts is expected to be completed by July 15, 2024.
