ITR Filing Tips: With the ITR filing season on, there are a number of reasons such as missing information, poor quality form and forgetting e-verification that may force the Income Tax Department reject your ITR form.
ITR Filing Rejection Reasons: The Income Tax Return (ITR) filing season is on. The last date for filing the return is July 31. One will face a penalty after missing the deadline. One can file their return on their own on the official Income Tax website. One can seek the assistance of a chartered accountant/expert, or many other private avenues offering ITR filing services. If you are filing ITR on your own, remember to not miss these five points, or else the I-T Department may cancel your ITR form.

Delayed submission
Though the I-T Department declares the last date filing ITR months in advance, taxpayers delay filing for no specific reasons. Many times, they file it in the eleventh hour or delay their submission by a few hours or days. If the taxpayer is jumping the deadline, the I-T Department may reject their ITR form.

Poor quality ITR form
This may sound like an absurd reason, but it is quite a strong reason for the ITR form to be rejected. There are two things that the I-T Department may consider from a quality point of view: the form's physical condition and the information filled on it. If the form is torn or the information is not being comprehended, it may be rejected. If you are sending the ITR in physical form, it is always advisable to print the ITR form on an A4 sheet and send it to the I-T Department.
