Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India savings and other bank account holders are advised to check their Customer ID or User ID as their customer IDs given by their banks won't remain operational from 1st April 2021. This is because of their banks merger with the Punjab National Bank. Aprt from this, the IFSC and MICR code of these customers will also ge changed from 1st April. So, if an Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) or a United Bank of India customers fails to get a new customer ID or User ID by 31st March 2021, they won't be able to send or accept cash in their account from 1st April.
Reason for new user ID required for OBC, United Bank of India customers
From 1st April 2021, OBC and United Bank of India customers will become PNB customers and hence they need to get a new User Id from their new banker by 31st March 2021.
