7th Pay Commission latest news: The week has gone by and it has brought much good news for a huge number of government employees both at the central and state levels, but at the same time some of the biggest demands by them have yet to be fullfilled - Centre is yet to make an announcement on Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for its employees. However, Indian Railways employees have received a Diwali gift. Also, certain states including Haryana government has showered a DA gift on its employees ahead of the assembly elections. The latest announcement would benefit thousands of NHM employees, who will avail this 6% DA hike and now it will increase from 148 to 154 per cent. The benefit would applicable from January 1, 2019.

Earlier on September 9, the NHM employees had laid a siege to the Chief Minister's residence. Later, a meeting was held between NHM Employees Union and the state government representatives and then the state government ordered the DA hike. Notably, the Central government employees are still waiting for the announcement related to their DA - they are expecting a 5 per cent increase. This increase will benefit them the most after the implementation of the 7th pay commission pay scales. 7th pay commission bonus announcement
Under the 7th pay commission, the central government has announced a bonus, equivalent to the wage of 78 days, to benefit over 11 lakh Indian railway employees. These employees will get 78 days wage as bonus which is linked with the productivity. Earlier on Wednesday, Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Prakash Javadekar briefed the media about the key Cabinet decision. The Union Cabinet decision will cost the government Rs 2,024.40 crore. 7th Pay Commission Announcement for Railways
According to the government statement, "It is an acknowledgment of employees' contribution to efficient Railway operations and aimed at maintaining high levels of motivation among railway personnel," adding "Productivity-linked bonus amounting to 78 days' work wages for over 11.5 lakh non-gazetted Railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel) approved." 7th Pay Commission news clears confusion on promotion and pension
The confusion related to promotion for the central government employees, including those working with Postal Department and Indian Railways, was recently cleared, as the Centre gave its nod to provide promotion to officers of Department of Posts under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS). Indian Railways announced to revise the pension of those employees who retired before 2006. This will cover those pensioners, who were getting pension under the pay scale of Rs 6500-10500 according to the 5th Pay Commission. The revision is effective from January 1, 2016. 7th Pay Commission: Salary boost for these employees
The Centre has cleared the way for promotion of the officers of Department of Posts under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS), but its will benefit Inspectors / Assistant Supervisors appointed before January 1, 2016 under grade pay 4800. Their salaries will increase by about Rs 6000 after their promotion. According to HS Tiwari, Assistant Secretary General of All India Audit and Accounts Association, the government has clarified that these officers should get promotions although the final order has not yet been issued. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary of officers with grade pay of Rs 4800 will be hiked to Rs 56100 per month after promotion, along with increased Dearness Allowance (DA) and Travel Allowances (TA). 7th Pay Commission: What is MACPS
Under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS), there will be no annual appraisal or increment of those central government employees, whose performance has not been good. This has irked the employees of Class III and Class IV grade. The new system will scuttle the chances of promotion of those employees who were not up to the mark. Harishankar Tiwari stated that employees were expected to get promotions automatically on completing their 10, 20 and 30 years of service. 7th Pay Commission: Rs 2 lakh job offer
The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Madurai, Tamil Nadu invited applications from Indian citizens including Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and persons of Indian origin to fill up the posts of Executive Director on a short-term contract basis. Maximum age limit for the eligible and interested candidate is 67 years of age and if selected, the applicant would be entitled to Level-15 pay grade. The appointment will be on a contractual period of 5 years or 70 years of the candidate's age, whichever comes earlier. After selection, the applicant will be entitled to Level-15 grade i.e. Rs 1,82,200 to Rs 2,24,100 in the pay matrix as recommended by the 7th Pay Commission report. Image source: Reuters
