7th Pay Commission: Elections are near and the central government employees are yet to get a word about their demand for a revision of the pay recommended under the 7th pay commission. However, a finance ministry source has told Zee Business Online that the Narendra Modi government is all set to come out with a revised fitment factor. On the other hand, a government letter has indicated that good news may be on cards for a section of central government employees.
7th Pay Commission: Allowances hike
Indian Railways employee union National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) had raised its voice against low Night Duty allowances given to the employees under 7th CPC. The federation had brought it to the notice of Railway Board that revised rates of Night Duty Allowance paid to various categories of staff have been lowered down on the implementation of Board’s instructions dated 08/03/2018 (RBE No. 36/2018) and had requested the Railway Ministry to review its decision. Taking note of the NFIR letter, the Secretary, Railway Board said that it will issue revised guidelines soon. "The undersigned is directed to refer to NFIR’s letter No 1/5(E) dated 07.12.2018 and to state that the matter regarding reduction in the amount of NDA in 7th CPC compared to 6th CPC pay structure has been examined in consultation with DoP&T, the nodal department of the Government on the subject and they have stated that, the matter of implementation of the Govt.’s decisions on NDA as recommended by 7th CPC is under consideration. The revised guidelines, once finalized, will be communicated accordingly," it said in a letter dated January 3. (Reuters)
