7th Pay Commission: How government employees of different states have benefitted from DA hikes in 2019
7th Pay Commission: The Central Government Employees and pensioners recently got a big gift from the government in the form of Dearness Allowance hike by three per cent. In February, the Central government increased DA by 3% over the existing rate of 9% with retrospective effect from January 1, 2019. Similarly, the Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners was also raised. As the central government employees enjoy DA hike bonanza, several state government employees are also not left behind. Here's a look at five states where employees have received DA hike this year:
7th Pay Commission: DA hike in Rajasthan
7th Pay Commission: Following the DA hike announcement by the Centre, Rajasthan government announced a pay hike for its 11.5 lakh employees and pensioners. "The Governor is pleased to order that the existing rate of Dearness Allowance payable to the State Government employees, drawing pay in the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017, under Finance Department Order of even number dated 10-09-2018 shall be revised from 9% to 12% with effect from 01-01-2019," said the state finance ministry in a notification. "The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving a fraction of 50 paisa and above may be rounded off to the next higher rupee and the fraction of less than 50 paise may be ignored," it added. 7th Pay Commission: Uttarakhand announces DA hike
7th Pay Commission: The Uttarakhand government has also announced a hike in the Dearness Allowance by 3 per cent. The decision will benefit almost around 2.5 lakh government employees and pensioners. The order will be applicable with retrospective effect from January 1, 2019. In other words, employees will get arrears of January and February. 7th Pay Commission: The Naveen Patnaik government of Odisha last month announced a hike of Dearness Allowance (DA) by an additional 3% for its employees. The state government also announced the same hike in Dearness Relief (TI) of pension holders. The move came close on the heels of the Centre's decision to increase the DA by 3 per cent for its employees and pensioners. The DA hike would be applied retrospectively from January 1, 2019. 7th Pay Commission: DA hike in Jammu and Kashmir
7th Pay Commission: Last month, the Jammu and Kashmir administration sanctioned an increase of three per cent in DA payable on basic pay to state government employees and pensioners with effect from January 1. The decision benefitted about 4.50 lakh state government employees and 1.60 lakh, pensioners. It was taken at the State Administrative Council (SAC) meeting under the chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik, news agency PTI had reported.
