7th Pay Commission: In a bid to bring joy to nearly 5 lakh Chhattisgarh state government employees, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has cleared a proposal to approve salary hike along with arrears. According to the Chhattisgarh government, the increased 7th CPC linked salary will be effective from January 2021.

Meanwhile, according to the media reports, the central government employees are expected to get four percent increase in dearness allowance which is expected in January 2021. What Happened in March 2020
In March 2020, the Union Cabinet had approved release of an additional instalment of dearness allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.01.2020. The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief was fixed at Rs 12,510.04 crore per annum and Rs 14,595.04 crore in Financial Year 2020-21 (for a period of 14 months from January, 2020 to February, 2021).
