UIDAI allows updates to your Aadhaar card. However, there are specific rules for how many times you can change certain details such as your name, address, gender and date of birth.

Limits on changes

- Name: You can change your name on your Aadhaar card a maximum of two times.
- Gender and date of birth: Each can be updated only once in your lifetime.
- Address: There is no limit to the number of times you can update your address.

Process for changing name

To change your name, visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre. Provide your Aadhaar number and fill out the enrolment form. Submit the necessary documents, and your biometric data will be taken for authentication. You will receive a receipt with a tracking number to monitor your update status. The fee for this service is Rs 50.

Required documents include a PAN card, birth certificate, passport, or university-issued certificate. Fill out the correction form and provide your biometric details. After verification, your date of birth will be updated. This service also costs Rs 50.
