How to make a complaint against your service provider? 

If you are unhappy with the services being rendered to you by your insurance company, IRDAI advises you to take the complaint first to the Grievance Redressal Officer of its branch or any other office that you deal with.

How to make a complaint
If you are unhappy with your insurance company, approach the Grievance Redressal Officer of its branch or any other office that you deal with. As a policy holder, you should give your complaint in writing along with the necessary supporting documents to further your claims. After you have registered the complaint, take written acknowledgement of your complaint along with the date. 

This will help you keep a record of the date of complaint. After, you have registered your complaint, it is the duty of the company to resolve your issues in a time bound manner.  

In case if it is not resolved within 15 days or if you are unhappy with their resolution you can approach the Grievance Redressal Cell of the Consumer Affairs Department of IRDAI. 

Know what to do now! 

  1. Call Toll Free Number 155255 (or) 1800 4254 732 or 
  2. Send an e-mail to complaints@irdai.gov.in 
  3. Make use of IRDAI's online portal - Integrated Grievance Management System (IGMS): 
  4. Register and monitor your complaint at igms.irda.gov.in 
  5. Send a letter to IRDAI with your complaint:

  7. Fill and send the Complaint Registration Form along with any letter or enclosures, if felt necessary, by post or courier to: the General Manager, IRDAI.
