Sovereign Gold Bonds Latest News: BSE has announced the commencement of trading of Sovereign Gold Bonds (Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2020-21 – Series III) on its platform from Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The SGBs were issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on June 16, 2020. The exchange has said this in a notice today which is available on its website.

“These SGBs will be available for trading from Wednesday, June 24, 2020 under the "G" Group Equity Cash segment of BSE, along with other Government Securities available for trading and settled on T+2 basis in the demat account of the investor. The minimum lot size will be 1 gram (1 gram= 1 unit) and in multiple of 1 gram thereof,” the notice says.

4) Issue Date – 16/06/2020
5) Face Value – Rs 4,677/gram
6) Coupon Rate - 2.50%

9) Tick Size - 1 paisa

The trading begins tomorrow with respect to the third tranche whose subscription date was between 8 June 2020 and 12 June 2020. The issuance date for Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2020-21 – Series III was 16 June 2020.

 SGBs are government securities denominated in grams of gold and are substitutes for holding physical gold.

The government began issuing SGB for the first six months of this fiscal (from April to September) from 20 April 2020. The SGBs are being issued in six tranches. The first tranche was opened for subscription from 20 April 2020 to 24 April 2020.
