SBI users alert! Make sure you are not scammed by fraudsters, read this warning from State Bank of India
Indias largest bank by assets & number of customers, State Bank of India (SBI), is no different. And, in its latest bid, the bank has asked its customers to stay away from fake social media accounts.

All the major banks and financial institutions have warned their account holders about these terrible threats to ensure that they are not scammed. India's largest bank by assets & number of customers, State Bank of India (SBI), is no different. And, in its latest bid, the bank has asked its customers to stay away from fake social media accounts. In a tweet, SBI asked its customers to interact with only the verified and official handles of State Bank of India.
"Do not invest your time and money interacting with fake accounts on social media. Follow, tag and interact with only the verified, official handles of SBI, to ensure that your comments, complaints and, enquiries get adequately addressed and you are not scammed by fraudsters," State Bank of India said in a tweet.
How to check authenticity of your SBI account?
The first thing that a user must look at is the verified sign in front of the account name. All major social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, allow their users to identify official handles by giving this feature. SBI's official social media handles are present on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Youtube and Quora.

More Dire Warnings from SBI and Tips to Stay SAFE
In a recent warning, the bank had shared a few tips with its customers to stay safe. It said that first and foremost, the customers should not share their OTP, PIN, CVV, and UPI PIN with unknown persons. According to the State Bank of India, customers should never tell their OTP (one time password), PIN, debit or credit card CVV number to anyone. Since most of the frauds are committed this way, the bank said that customers should take precaution if someone on the phone call, after taking the name of the bank, warns you to block your card and asks for changing password, OTP or CVV number written on the back of the card.
Cautioning the customers through its Twitter account, the SBI clarified that the bank never asks for information like user ID, PIN, password, CVV, OTP, VPA (UPI) from its customers, who must take care of these things while doing banking transactions.
