SBI starts video life certificate service for pension holders from November 1

Big relief to those who gets pensions through the State Bank of India (SBI). SBI has started a new facility for its customers from today onwards.

Zee Business Correspondent Subodh Mishra shares how can one take advantage of this service and how one can register in it.

Mishra added that there is good news for the pensioners of SBI. From November 1, SBI is starting the service of Video Life Certificate for its pension holders. This is a big relief as every year senior citizens struggle to deposit their life certification. Most of them are not tech savvy.  

The pensioners need to submit their annual life certificates once a year to continue receiving pension. The timeline of submitting the life certificate between November 1 to November 30. However, pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their life certificate. Senior citizens usually have to manually visit the branch to submit their Life Pension Certificate, despite the fact that they are in town, or not in town, or ill, Mishra added.

Considering all this, SBI has now started the service of Video Life Certificate for its pension holders. Senior citizens can visit the website www.pensionseva.sbi and click on the video life certificate to avial this service.

He added that through this, now pension holders will not need to go to the bank. Rather they will be able to give their life certificate to the bank in the video itself. They can submit their Life certificate directly to branch managers. This way, there is no need to go to bank for life certificate.

For now, this service has been started by SBI. Hopefully other banks will also start this service.
