SBI 444 Days Special FD vs SBI 400 Days Special FD Calculator: Along with standard fixed deposit (FD) schemes, special FDs are also popular among investors with a low-risk appetite and seeking guaranteed returns.
They invest in special FDs for a specified period.
If one withdraws on maturity in a special FD, they offer extra interest rates than the bank's standard FDs of nearly the same period.
The extra interest rate attracts a lot of investors to invest in special FDs.
Banks offer special FDs for a limited duration.
But based on investor interest, they can extend the investment deadline for special FDs.
State Bank of India (SBI) offers a 444-day Amrit Vrishti and a 400-day Amrit Kalash scheme to general and senior citizens.
Like many standard SBI FDs, Amrit Vrishti and Amrit Kalash also offer extra interest rates to senior citizens.

SBI Amrit Vrishti 444-day FD Scheme
Launched on July 15, 2024, investments in the special FD are allowed till March 31, 2025.
The FD offers domestic retail term deposits, including NRI Rupee Term Deposits (< Rs 3 crore).
In term deposits, payments are available on a monthly/quarterly/half-yearly basis.
The premature withdrawal facility with up to 1 per cent penalty is also available.
SBI Amrit Vrishti 444-day FD: Interest rate for general citizens
The interest rate for general citizens is 7.25 per cent.
Senior citizens get 7.75 per cent interest in the special FD.
SBI Amrit Kalash 400-day FD
The special FD was launched on February 15, 2023, for just 45 days, but its deadline has been extended many times since then. The current deadline for investing in the special FD is March 31, 2024.
The payment of interest will be done on maturity (in case of special term deposit) and at monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, intervals (in case of term deposit).
Premature withdrawal and loan facility are also available in the FD.
SBI Amrit Kalash 400-day FD: Interest rates for general and senior citizens
General citizens get 7.10 per cent interest rate in the 400-day Amrit Kalash special FD.
The interest rate for senior citizens is 7.60 per cent.
SBI Amrit Vrishti 444-day FD: Maturity amount for senior citizens on investment of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh, and Rs 15 lakh
On investing Rs 5 lakh, the estimated interest for senior citizens will be Rs 48,935.21 and the estimated maturity will be Rs 5,48,935.21.
On an investment of Rs 10 lakh, the estimated return will be Rs 97,870.42 and the estimated maturity will be Rs 10,97,870.42.
Senior citizens will get Rs 1,46,805.63 in interest and Rs 16,46,805.63 in maturity if they invest Rs 15,00,000 in the special SBI FD.
SBI Amrit Kalash 400-day FD: Maturity amount for senior citizens on investments of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh, and Rs 15 lakh
Senior citizens will get estimated Rs 4,30,02.77 in interest and estimated Rs 5,43,002.77 in maturity on an investment of Rs 5 lakh.
On a Rs 10 lakh investment, the estimated interest will be Rs 86,005.54 and the estimated maturity amount will be Rs 10,86,005.54.
If a senior citizen invests Rs 15 lakh in the 400-day special FD, the estimated interest will be Rs 1,29,008.31 and the estimated maturity will be Rs 16,29,008.31.
