SBI online fraud Warning! Follow these instructions to guard your account from cybercrime

SBI online fraud Warning: Online fraud is at its peak in India with plethora of digital transaction and services provided by banks, financial institutions and other sources. It has become very important to pay caution while making online transactions and seeking online services from different merchants. Now, a day you can run into trouble anytime when you are not alert and do not follow required safety guidelines while executing online transactions.    

State Bank of India, India’s largest lender, which has the maximum bank customers have also taken online fraud seriously and alerted its customers.

Taking to Twitter, it posted, “ Your ATM CARD & PIN are important. Here are some tips to keep your money - safe & secured. For information, please visit - https://bit.ly/2CdSpej.” It had earlier too cautioned its customers about the threats of online fraud and misleading, fake messages on social media.  “SBI customers are requested to be alert on Social Media and not fall for any misleading and fake messages,” the bank had tweeted.

Let us look at the points raised by the India’s largest public sector bank, SBI online:
1 Use your hand to cover the keypad while using a SBI ATM card at the ATM or POS Machine.
2 Never share your SBI pin /card details with anyone
3 Never write the SBI pin on you card
4 Do not respond to text messages, emails, or calls asking for your pin or card details.
5 Do not use numbers from your birthday, phone or account number as your pin
6 Dispose of or safely put away your transaction receipts
7 Look for spy cameras before you start your transaction
8 Beware of keypad manipulations, heat mapping and shoulder surfing while using the ATM or POS machine
9 Make sure to sign up for SBI online transaction alerts
