SBI customers ALERT! SHARING IS NOT CARING when it comes to personal bank details - check how to AVOID cybercrimes
Everyone must be aware of cybercrime these days. If one is not careful, one can easily fall a prey to cybercrime that can lead to the losing of one's personal information. The State Bank of India (SBI) has time and again warned its customers regarding cybercrime.

Recently, SBI has again tweeted from its social media handle cautioning its customers about cybercrime and to save their personal information and hard-earned money.

The largest public sector bank in the country tweeted from its official Twitter handle, "Always remember that your personal information needs to be kept private. Pay attention to these important safety tips to avoid cybercrime. Click here to report any such incident at cybercrime.gov.in."

SBI has highlighted the fact that contrary to the old proverb' Sharing is not caring when it comes to personal information'. An SBI customer needs to follow certain things in order to avoid cybercrime. They are as follows:
1) One must not share personal details on social media platforms
2) One must note that he or she must not share COVID-19 vaccination certificate or any document that contains personal details
3) One must not transfer fund to anyone without verifying their authenticity
4) In case one receives any suspicious mail, one must not open it. One must also refrain from clicking on any unverified links
5) One must not share debit card details or INB credentials and other information with anyone
6) One must be beware of fake messages and misinformation
In case, one is confronted with any such incident, one must immediately report at cybercrime.gov.in.
The SBI has further tweeted, "We advise our customers to be alert of fraudsters and not to share any sensitive details online or download any app from an unknown source."

The SBI has also noted certain points for the customers to follow to avoid getting trapped by any fraudster. They are as follows:
1) One must not share your credentials like date of birth, debit card number, internet banking ID/ password , debit card pin, OTP and other personal details
2) One must be beware of the fraudsters pretending to be calling from SBI, RBI, government offices, police, KYC authority
3) An SBI customer must not download any mobile app based on telephone calls/ emails from any unknown source
4) On must not respond to unsolicited attractive offers received through emails, SMS and other social media
The SBI customers must note that SBI or any of its representative never sends any email/SMS or calls you over phone to get your personal information, password or one time SMS (high security) password. Any such e-mail/SMS or phone call is an attempt to fraudulently withdraw money from your account through Internet Banking. One must not respond to such emails or phone calls and must report immediately at report.phishing@sbi.co.in.
