How to Block SBI Debit Card: You have lost your State Bank of India (SBI) Debit Card and now don't know what to do! Well, there is no need to worry! The first thing you need to do is to block your Debit Card and the process for doing so is very simple.

The SBI time and again tweets from its official Twitter handle reminding its customers of several facilities available from the bank for their convenience. Recently, SBI has tweeted about how one can block one's Debit Card and reissue a new one. SBI tweeted, "Here's how you can block your Debit Card and reissue a new one via our toll-free IVR system. Just call 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800."

Now, after dialing one of the above-mentioned numbers, an SBI customers have to press certain digits to avail the services. An SBI customer has to press 0 for card blocking. Now, one has to press 1 to block the debit card using the registered mobile number and card number. One can press 2 to block the card by using the registered mobile number and account number.
In order to block the debit card using account number, one has to follow some simple steps. They are as follows:
Step 1: One has to enter the last five digits of the account number to block the card
Step 2: One has to press 1 to confirm the last five digits
Step 3: One now has to press 2 to re-enter the last five digits of the account number
After these steps are completed, the Debit Card will be blocked. An SBI customer must note that a blocking confirmation will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.
In case, one wishes to apply for a replacement card, one has to follow these steps, or else, the customer can press 7 and 8 for previous menu and main menu, respectively:
Step 1: Press 1 to apply for replacement card
Step 2: The customer has to enter the year of birth
The card will be sent to the registered address and the charges for card replacement will be applied. Now, one has to press 1 to confirm and in case of cancellation of the request, one has to press 2. The confirmation will be sent through SMS to the registered mobile number.
An SBI customer must note that there is another process for blocking the Debit Card if he or she remembers the last five digits of the ATM Card. In that case, the steps to be followed are:
Step 1: One has to enter the last five digits of the ATM card, one wishes to block
Step 2: Now one has to press 1 to confirm
Step 3: Now, the person has to press 2 to re-enter the last five digits of the ATM card to be blocked
After these steps are completed, the Debit Card will be successfully blocked. One must note that a blocking confirmation will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.
Now, in order to reissue a new Debit Card, one has to follow the process as mentioned earlier.
