Provident Fund: Here is how to download e-passbook from EPFO portal
Provident Fund: The EPF member passbook contains all contributions made by an employee as well as employer in EPF account, which keeps a record of detailed contributions made every month.
Employees’ Provident Fund, which is governed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), is offered only to salaried individuals. The EPF is a mandatory savings scheme applicable to employees of a company with more than 20 staff. This employee welfare facility helps them build funds that they can access post-retirement. The EPF member passbook contains all contributions made by an employee as well as employer in EPF account, which keeps a record of detailed contributions made every month. Since the passbook contains interests deposited in the beneficiary’s account, the EPFO has now extended facility, allowing subscribers to download the EPF passbook using their Universal Account Number (UAN). Through this facility, EPF subscribers can download and save their passbook to review entries made from time to time.
However, prior to that subscribers need to register on the EPFO portal. For doing that they need to be registered on the EPFO member portal by activating their UAN.
A member can visit https://unifiedportal.epfindia.gov.in to access the same. The member should have UAN allotted to him, along with PAN, Aadhaar or Member ID to activate the UAN and get online access to the portal.
For authentication process, member needs to enter details and then submit to receive an authentication pin to his/her registered mobile to complete the registration process. After this process, the subscriber would be able to access the portal and login to member services.
