The Mahila Samman Savings scheme, which permits a one-time deposit in the range of Rs 1,000-2,00,000, is available at post offices and select commercial banks.
A deposit of Rs 10,000 in the women-focused investment scheme grows into Rs 11,602 in the two-year period, and the total sum is credited into the account of the depositor at the time of closure, according to the India Post website, indiapost.gov.in.

A Mahila Samman Savings Certificate account can be set up by women for themselves or in favour of a minor girl child, according to the India Post website.
