If you have an account with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), you can use the UMANG App to withdraw your EPF money.
The UMANG App has been developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD), UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance). It provides a single platform for all Indian Citizens to access pan India e-Gov services ranging from Central to Local Government bodies and other citizen-centric services. UMANG intends to provide major services offered by Central and State Government departments, Local bodies and other utility services from private organizations. It provides a unified approach where citizens can install one application to avail of multiple government services.
The App has been envisaged to drive e-governance and Mobile Governance in India.
UMANG service has been made available on multiple channels like mobile application, web, IVR and SMS which can be accessed through smartphones, feature phones, tablets and desktops.
Step-by-step guide to apply for PF Withdrawal:
1: Download the Umang app
2: Go to the search menu and look for EPFO
3: Choose ‘Employee Centric’, click ‘Raise Claim’ and enter EPF UAN number
4: Enter the OTP that is sent to your phone number, choose type of withdrawal and submit through Umang
5: A claim reference number will be sent to you and you can use this to track the status of your claim

- Approved and verified KYC details
- UAN number linked to Aadhaar
- Umang app linked to Aadhaar
