Petrol and diesel prices have been released for Friday, June 4. After keeping the rates unchanged for two days, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have once again hiked rates for petrol and diesel. As per Indian Oil Corporation Limited website (IOCL), petrol and diesel prices have been increased by 27 paise and 28 paise respectively.

This is 18th hike since May and with these increase in prices during this period, petrol price has gotten costlier by Rs 4.36 per litre and diesel by Rs 4.93 a litre in the national capital.   

After revision of fuel rates on June 4, petrol price is Rs 94.76 per litre and diesel price is Rs 85.66 per litre in Delhi.  

In Mumbai, petrol has already breached Rs 100 mark and after 26 paise hike, it is being retailed at Rs 100.98, while diesel costs Rs 92.99 paise.  

In Kolkata, petrol price was hiked by 26 paise to Rs 94.76 a litre and diesel by 28 paise to Rs 88.51 a litre,  

In Chennai, petrol hit an all-time high of Rs 96.23 a litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 90.38 per litre. 

Petrol prices had already crossed Rs 100 in many cities of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh quite some time ago, however, it also breached this mark in Mumbai. 

Fuel prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.
